Terms of Use

These Terms cover Milo Roams and related services (the "Service"), operated by Epic Foundry LLC ("we", "us").

1. About Milo Roams

Milo Roams offers curated café discovery in US regions, with results, maps, saves, visits, and recommendations. Events/Passport availability varies.

2. Acceptance and eligibility

Downloading, accessing, creating an account for, or using Milo Roams means you accept these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you disagree, don't use the Service.

You must be at least 13. If you're under the age of majority where you live, use requires a parent or legal guardian's permission.

3. Accounts and deletion

Sign in with Apple or Google to use café discovery; there is no guest browsing. Public website and legal pages don't require sign-in. Keep your details accurate and your device and sign-in credentials secure. Report suspected unauthorized access to [email protected]. You're responsible for account activity except to the extent caused by our failure to use reasonable security measures.

Delete through Me → Delete account or support. Apple accounts require matching Apple ID confirmation. Cancellation before acceptance keeps the account; acceptance signs you out for asynchronous cleanup. The Privacy Policy explains retention. Café listings and Apple/Google accounts remain.

4. License and ownership

We grant a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license to use Milo Roams for lawful, personal, non-commercial purposes. Epic Foundry and its licensors own the software, design, content, databases, names, and marks. No ownership transfers to you.

Don't copy, sell, redistribute, commercially exploit, reverse engineer, or extract the software or proprietary data without permission, except where applicable law permits it.

5. Café information and recommendations

Listings, hours, menus, prices, amenities, events and directions can be wrong or outdated. Confirm important details with the business/organizer before visiting, purchasing, or relying on allergy, dietary, accessibility or safety information.

We don't operate or inspect merchants, venues, or events and don't guarantee their products, availability, quality, safety, or suitability. Recommendations use your preferences and practical context, including region and authorized location. Match scores are decision aids, not quality certifications or guarantees.

A manual visit records your statement; opening directions doesn't verify a visit. Progress stamps, where enabled, have no cash value or merchant reward unless separate terms expressly provide one.

6. Location and external services

Use your selected region without device location, or allow approximate/precise location for nearby results and distance filters. Control permission in iOS Settings.

Maps may be inaccurate/unavailable. Don't use the app while driving or dangerously or unlawfully; travel and personal safety are your responsibility.

External merchant, social, ordering, event, payment and map services have their own terms/privacy policies; we don't control their practices or availability.

7. Your content

Where public recommendations are available, any signed-in user can see your profile name, recommended cafés, and publication times. Your Apple/Google identity, email, location, saves, private visits, and taste answers are not displayed. Named endorsements are public User Content; star ratings and free-form comments are not offered.

Sharing requires consent and a profile name. Older recommendations stay private until you publish them; Make all public requires separate confirmation. Withdraw any recommendation at any time, or withdraw all in Profile where available. Withdrawal removes public display/counts, subject to refresh, without undoing visits. Recommendations remain private while the feature is unavailable.

Released names remain reserved for 90 days, unlinked to any account, including after changes/deletion, to prevent impersonation.

Report names or block users in the app. Private blocks hide both people's names and recommendations from each other. We may reject, hide or restrict names, remove content, or suspend public recommending or accounts. We aim to act on reports within 24 hours; this is not a guaranteed resolution deadline. The reporter is never revealed to the reported person or other users, or shown in the staff moderation interface. Contact [email protected] for abuse or moderation help.

Manage saves/visits in-app; contact support for corrections.

Your profile names, public recommendations, feedback, reports, corrections, and other submissions ("User Content") remain yours. You grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, reproduce, format, display profile names and recommendations you choose to make public, and use them to operate, personalize, improve, and secure the Service, including through our providers. This doesn't authorize public disclosure of private account activity contrary to the Privacy Policy. Private visits and recommendations may contribute to aggregate discovery signals; only recommendations you choose to publish appear with your profile name.

Submit accurate, lawful content with necessary rights. We may refuse/remove it for safety or law. The license ends on deletion except for permitted retention and aggregate/de-identified information. Product suggestions may improve the Service without compensation, subject to the Privacy Policy.

9. Purchases and sponsored content

The current release has no subscriptions, in-app purchases, or paid merchant placements. If introduced, we'll show pricing, renewal, cancellation, and feature terms before purchase. App Store purchases and refunds follow Apple's policies and applicable law; we don't process your payment card. Deleting an account wouldn't automatically cancel an Apple subscription.

Future paid placements will be clearly labeled. Payment won't buy editorial approval, quality certification, or undisclosed favorable placement in organic results.

10. Availability and termination

We may change, suspend, or discontinue features. We may restrict or terminate accounts or remove content when reasonably necessary to address violations, fraud, or legal, security, or operational risks. You may stop using Milo Roams anytime. Provisions intended to survive termination, including ownership, disclaimers, liability, indemnification, and disputes, remain effective.

11. Disclaimers and liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT EXPRESS OR IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, SECURITY, OR UNINTERRUPTED OPERATION. WE DON'T GUARANTEE THIRD-PARTY INFORMATION, PRODUCTS, EVENTS, OR SERVICES.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, EPIC FOUNDRY AND ITS AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, MEMBERS, MANAGERS, EMPLOYEES, CONTRACTORS, LICENSORS, AND SUPPLIERS ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR LOST PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY. TOTAL LIABILITY ARISING FROM THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR MILO ROAMS IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM OR USD 100.

These exclusions apply only as law permits; non-excludable warranties and rights remain.

12. Indemnification and disputes

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Epic Foundry and its affiliates, officers, members, managers, employees, contractors, licensors, and suppliers from claims, losses, and reasonable legal expenses arising from your use of Milo Roams, User Content, violations of these Terms or others' rights, or third-party interactions.

California law governs without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Unless applicable law requires another forum, disputes must be brought in state or federal courts located in San Mateo County, California; both parties consent to jurisdiction and venue. Either party may bring an eligible small-claims case or seek equitable relief for unauthorized intellectual-property use.

13. Changes and general terms

We'll post updated Terms with a new effective date and additional notice where required. Continued use after they take effect means acceptance.

These Terms, the Privacy Policy, and any feature-specific terms form the entire agreement. You may not assign it without written consent; we may assign it in a corporate transaction. If a provision is unenforceable, the remainder remains effective. Failure to enforce isn't a waiver. These Terms create no partnership, agency, employment, or franchise relationship.

For copyright or other rights complaints, identify the work/right, affected content and location, your contact details, good-faith belief the use is unauthorized, an accuracy statement (under penalty of perjury where applicable), and your physical/electronic signature. We may remove or restrict content where appropriate.
